I was a little hesitant at first about using the Voice Thread because I am not a fan of hearing myself speak. After working with it for a few minutes I found it fun. I liked being able to read my story with some emotion without feeling awkward that someone is watching me. I liked how creative you can be with this technology why drawing comments, speaking or using a video so you can be seen giving your comments. Browsing through the website, I noticed that there were many ways that Voice Threads can be used in the classroom. I can use it to read stories to my students or have them use it to tell a story or to use a presentation. It can be used for other content areas such as science, social studies. For example, Voice Threads can be used to demonstrate science experiments. I found using the Voice Thread website pretty easy. The only problem that I had was that sometimes my voice comments would not come through but I think that was probably because of the microphone I was using. I am glad that Dr. Roukema did not give me direct instructions when doing the assignment because it gave me a better chance to explore the website. I do not think that I would have explored the website as much if she just gave me instructions. When I was trying to figure out something, I had to search on the website on my own. I plan to use the Voice thread in my classroom. Overall it was a good learning experience.
